How to post text, photo & media files

.

After you’ve registered, at your registered email address you’ll get a password and a url-link to BURMA DIGEST site admin. Click on the link and sign in with the password. Then you’ll see the dashboard.

There on the tool bar at the top, you see “Write”. Click on it and you’ll get the writing pad.

It looks very much like an email compose box. And it works very similar to composing an email.

If you click on the “Show/hide advanced toolbar” button, which show more format buttons, you’ll get another row of buttons for formatting your text.

The functions of these new row of buttons are mainly for formatting, such as text style, text colour, etc.

If you want to know what a button does, you can place the mouse pointer on it, and the explanation will appear. Below is an example.

..

Posting an English article

You can post an English article either by

  1. typing it in the writing pad as explained above, or

  2. typing it in ”note-pad” in your computer and then copy&paste it into the writing pad.

..

Using Tables in your article

You can put a table in your article either by

  1. using the “table” button on our writing pad, or

  2. making a table in Microsoft word and then copy&paste from Microsoft word into the writing pad

But making the table first in Microsoft word is better because Microsoft word’s table features are far better than our table button.

..

Inserting photos in your article

You can insert as many photos as you like into your article. But please only use postcard size photos. Very big photos will not fit nicely in the webpage and viewers will have difficulty to download and view your photo_ especially readers with slow narrow-band internet connections will get into trouble.

You can upload photos by using upload box, which you can find below the writing pad.

It’s like attaching a photo to an email.

Once you’ve upload a photo, select “Show Full Size” option, “Link to None” option. And then click “Send to editor”. The photo will immediately goes into the writing pad. There you can move it around to make a lay out as you like.

..

Posting a Burmese article

For Burmese articles, please post as graphic/photo files.

You can make graphic files in Photoshop or Paint or Paint.net or any similar picture/drawing software.

You can type a Burmese article in Microsoft Word and then copy&paste it into Photoshop or Paint or any similar software.

You can download Paint.net from (http://www.getpaint.net). After downloading, when it’s being installed, it will prompt you to download Microsoft.Net frame, which is also free download. Download everything and install everything.
Then open Paint.net. Look up in its tool bar at the top for “Image”. Click “image” and find “Resize canvas”; resize your canvas to width 540pixel which will fit our webpages. And also find zoom+ and zoom- icons from the toolbar near the top. Make sure it is showing 100%, so that you’ll be seeing the actual dimensions of what you are doing.
Then find “A” in the left margin tool bar. “A” means add text. Click on “A” and then click on the canvas where you want to start typing; start from top left corner of your canvas. Choose a Burmese font of your choice from the formatting tool bar above your canvas.
Now you can start typing in Burmese.
When you finished one canvas, save it as a gif file in your my document folder/floppy disc etc.
Then open a new canvas and type and save, ……………………………. again & again.

Turn Burmese articles into graphic files first, and save them in your computer, and then upload them into our website, in the same way as uploading photos (see above).

..

Inserting a Video/Audio

First of all you need to upload your video to youtube or veoh or any similar video site; your audio to esnips or any similar audio site.

Copy the embed-code of the video which you’ve uploaded onto media-site (youtube/esnips etc), then come to our site admin writing pad, and click on “CODE” tab which you’ll see at the top of the writing pad above the toolbar.

Then, click on “VISUAL” tab, which you’ll find beside “CODE” tab; and you’ll be onto the usual writing pad. Then you can type in any text and captions for the video.

You will probably not see your video in the writing pad; but when our article is published later, your video will load & play automatically on the webpage for the viewers.

..

Publishing the article

If you are a new author, you’ll not find a “PUBLISH” tab below the writting pad; you can save just your post, then the editor(s) will approve it and publish it later.

If you are already a regular contributor, you can publish your post by yourself. You’ll find a “PUBLISH” tab below the writting pad.

To. My Dear in Christ Date: Nov 16th, 2008(Sun)
First of all, I would like to thank God for this opportunity to share my testimony you, who are having great love and passion for the lost souls.
I’M Mr. Pau Suan Zam, Son of Rev. Tuan Suan Dal, born in Nov 8,1980. I come from Myanmar. My father was a former minister, since I was bore my Father was a Pastor in Assembly of God Church in Myanmar, Chin State, Tiddim Township. Chin state is mountain area and one of the minor tribe “Chin” people are living in this state. Since 1993 the Lord promoted him to be superintendent in Tiddim Section, (Under G.C (4)) until 2001. After 2001 we transferred to Kalaymyo and presently my Parents are staying in Kalaymyo. Now my father is reaching his golden age, but then he still doing anything that he could do for the Glory of God even though he do not involve in the fulltime ministry. And my mom is a prayer warrior, because of my Mother’s I’m being blessed by the Lord. I really appreciate my loving Father and my mother for what they have been doing for the Lord.
During my school years I was finding difficulties in my schooling, because of lack of financials. But then by God’s grace I could studied till class ten (which we called Matriculation) in the year of 2000, even though I could not passed it because at half of school year I could not continue my schooling by means of no one to support for my studies. Life is some time really difficult to live, but God is good for me and He always provides all my needs. Praise the Lord!.
Back in 17th Oct 1999 I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and my personal Savior. Since from that day I have a strong desire to serve God and the Lord has given to me a vision to establish a seminary school (Training for Trainers). Till today I don’t have any idea yet, how it will going to happen, but I’m still having a strong desire to accomplish my vision and believing that the lord will going to accomplish his task. Amen!.
Since 2001 I studied at Bible Seminary in “Happy Family Training Center” Mandalay City, Myanmar. After graduated from seminary, I was serving the Lord in my own Church, especially in Music ministry and home visitation and youth activities. While I was serving the Lord I always prayed to God that He will open the way for me to study in Bible School, and it should be outside my Country. The lord answered exactly just as my prayer in Oct 12, 2006, and I could come to the Philippines to study God’s words (Particularly at Bethel Bible College). Even though I’m here without any sponsor just a self supporting student (as a working student) but the Lord is so faithful to me and always sees my needs, till today continuing my study here at Bethel Bible College. Even though life in Philippines is so very difficult and hard, there are many challenges in life but my faith in God and my heart for serving God is never cease. I Thank the Lord for strengthens me every day of my life. That is not by my might, nor not by my power but by the help of the Holy Spirit of the Lord I can stand firm out of many circumstances and challenges.
My vision is to establish a seminary school in my place, in order to win the Buddhist peoples. Teaching them and share the Love of God. At plan the seed inside their hearts. The Buddhist people are difficult to share the good news, aside from that it is difficult to enter Myanmar from the other countries. We can find hardly those who can get into Myanmar.
So if I don’t have heart for them who will share to these Buddhist people? If you and I do not care, who will love them? I can’t do by myself, I need your help, I need your supports, I need your prayers. I need you. I now that I’m calls for Myanmar. All of you can’t go there to minister to them, not everyone can get inside the country, but you can extent your prayer for them and you can still support those are able to do ministry in Myanmar.
Lets us work together hands to hands on order to extend the Kingdom of God. No one can have all kinds of gifts, but at least one can have gifts of prayer, gift of giving …Etc.
Therefore I need your prayers and supports in my studies in order to accomplish what the Lord has entrusted in my heart. Thank you and May God bless you all.
My special prayer request: a) The Lord provision in my studies
    b) Wisdom, knowledge and good health
    c) The Lord will open the way for me accomplish my goal before 2015.
    d) I’m praying that the Lord will give me some one to help my studies here in the Philippines.

*I Believe and hoping that when 2015 come, we will be give thank and celebrating to the Lord for answering our prayer.. God bless you all..*

Yours in Christ Pau Suan Zam Bethel Bible College Gov. I Santiago Street, Malinta Valenzuela City, Metro Manila Philippines Email; paulzam.h@gmail.com
